Elevate the economic wellbeing of families by facilitating parents into work or back into work after having children thus encouraging them to become more financially stable with a view to "reducing child poverty", which is a key government target.
Target Group
Parents with children of any age - this includes grandparents.
How was this achieved?
Through the purchase of a new site in the town centre of Watford, renovation and extension to provide classrooms and on-site childcare.
Training courses and work placement/volunteering opportunities were sought, facilitating parents into work.
How did prospective learners know about the project?
Through the activities of the registered volunteers and other marketing opportunities such as the inclusion of our activities in our own and various other organisational newsletters i.e. schools, partner and SureStart Children's Centres.
How were learners supported?
On-site créche provision for those parents learning who have children under the age of five.

We had our own Parent Bus that engaged families through a range of Day Trips.

Additional support for language, literacy and numeracy was identified though Induction & Assessments then provided by partner training organisations.
Celebrating Learners' Success
We held an annual "graduation" ceremony to celebrate learner achievement and promote projects to a wider audience. The success of the project was promoted as well as promoting the success within our newsletters to our 500+ family members.
