As we near the end of phase two, the offices are almost ready and having the final touches before the carpets are laid this week!
Work will then begin on the extension which will become our new creche, together with an outdoor play area for the children.
A combination of food sales, tombola, making children's windmills with stickers, newsletters and balloons. Just a few of the things we had on offer at the Oxhey Village Fayre this year. We had half of the tent dealing with Sunshine Children's Centre Charity and the other half with Sunshine Children's Centre, showing how the partners are working in combination to support families from our community.
The second cheque was presented to the Wellspring Church Centre today to help the construction of another new building ready to deliver more Parents into Work activities next year for all families.

A new toilet has been installed into the basement. The basement will be the temporary creche until the purpose built creche is complete. In future, the basement will be the Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) area for our partners to prepare parents for the workplace.
The day went very well and 30 parents were assessed to see if they were able to join the class that starts on Monday 27th April at 83 Market Street. One of the joining conditions is that parents must have been in the country for over 3 years and have a reasonable level of English Language skills. Where English levels are slightly below the levels needed, we refer parents to join ESOL classes at our partner sites, ready for next year.

The photo to the left shows a wooden shed that will be removed. This is where the buggy park and secure access door to the creche will be. The existing door from the activity room will enter into a lobby area and stairs to the offices above before an additionl secure entrance to the creche area. The creche itself will will come out to the end of the grassed area and retain a small outside area that will be fully enclosed by fencing.
The existing stairs will move back to the end of the neighbouring property, leaving space below for children's toilets and a wet area for staff to clean and tidy up.
Well, here are the first set of photos of the new building. Lots to do, complete refurb and a new extension.
This will be the classroom side door leading to the Meeting Room
